US Department of Transportation (DOT) Lithium Battery Recycling Requirements

This workshop will focus on the safe transportation of lithium batteries for recycling and the applicable regulations that must be followed by battery recyclers and is designed for individuals in the battery recycling industry who need a working knowledge of the regulations, or who provide training to their employees on the applicable regulations. They will include an overview on the latest regulatory requirements on proper lithium battery packaging, marking, and labeling and as well as a basic understanding of how to apply the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).

R2 Training: Intro to Core Requirements (Part 1)

This training class will cover the “core” requirements in R2 version 3, the next evolution of the R2 Standard. This class will go over the new R2 Equipment Categorization (REC) document and how it is to be used by R2 facilities. As well as discuss the steps and costs associated with R2 certification.

Movie Screening: Blame Game

The 48-minute documentary film "Blame Game" from Spanish filmmakers Juan Solera and Albert Julia features interviews with global leaders as well as with individuals who make their living handling material at the end of the line in Africa. The artfully shot and thought-provoking movie explores the challenges of global e-scrap management while also offering possible solutions – some very simple – that could reduce waste, alleviate poverty and help the environment in communities across the planet.
